Nakamura E Fit 150 review: the aggressive cross-country of Intersport

This review gives you a quick and unbiased answer to the question of whether or not you should buy the Nakamura E Fit 150 W. We wanted to understand if the urban version of this electric bike from sports specialist Intersport was up to par with its alter ego, the electric mountain bike. Here is a detailed review and our opinion on the e fit 150 Nakamura urban electric bike.

Perfect for beginners and electric bike enthusiasts ?

Intersport, the sports specialist, is now heading for urban areas with its electrically-assisted bike that tries to integrate all the functions of its alter ego, the mountain bike. The equipment level of the intercity e-bike is more than average at a reasonable price. The E fit 150 Nakamura is available in two versions, male and female.

However, the only difference between the two models is the cross tube that exists in the men’s version of the e fit 250 W. To give our opinion, we opted for the female version, aptly named Nakamura e fit 150 W.

Besides the fact that it doesn’t seem very useful to necessarily propose two different versions depending on the gender, the model we chose simply seemed nicer and more adapted to move around town.

Do you know the electric range of Decathlon ?

Before getting into the heart of the E Fit 150 Nakamura , we would like to introduce you to the complete Decathlon range. For many years the Decathlon brand has been very successful in the bicycle sector. The Btwin is the main reason for this. That’s why it was logical for the brand to develop its traditional bikes into Decathlon electric bikes.

These electric bike with excellent finishings and very well equipped are today among the best of the general public market. Let’s not forget that Decathlon takes a dominant place in the sector thanks to its numerous local stores. This allows you to benefit from an outstanding after-sales service.

  • E Fit 150 Nakamura : an exceptional design quality

With its first electric mountain bike, Intersport gave us a relatively high design quality. Despite a very attractive price, the E-summit 710 could boast an attractive technical data sheet.

Intersport had the brilliant idea to repeat this recipe for its city bike. The results showed that the e fit is very well designed and well cared for. The ultimate strength of Intersport is to have the French Manufacture of Machecoul in its fold.

The E Fit 150 Nakamura boasts not only a recognized know-how in its design but also a “made in France” label, which is quite rare in the bike world. The more fussy ones will probably regret the thickness of the welds, but such a product is rare at a price of only 1500 euros.

On the other hand, we can also appreciate the integration efforts by looking at the battery. The battery of the efit 150 seems well integrated. Moreover, it is removable. The control screen seems quite imposing but it is far superior to what most competitors offer.

Autonomy of the Nakamura E FIT 150

The level of electric assistance is the main cause of battery discharge !

The Nakamura E Fit 150 W has a semi-integrated battery of 250 watts. As Intersport claims, it offers a maximum autonomy of 70 kilometers. However, this figure is entirely theoretical and depends on the type of route as well as the height and weight of the cyclist. The rougher your route, the faster your battery will discharge.

If you’re a regular electric bike rider, you should know that range is also a function of pedaling assistance. On this e-bike, you are free to choose between four different levels. Levels 2 and 3 are intermediate levels and, according to Intersport, they are somewhat similar.

The assistance level, as mentioned earlier, is the most important factor when it comes to judging the range of an electric bike. Therefore, with the highest assistance level, which is level 4 on e fit 150 Nakamura, it is possible to reach 52 km of range.

The 70 km range, as promised by the manufacturer, could be reached by placing the electric bike at the lowest assistance level.

Nakamura E FIT 150: an impressive range of equipment

The Nakamura E Fit 150 W sets the bar high when it comes to equipment. It simply has everything you need to ride, no matter what the weather conditions. Let’s start with the basics.

There are fenders, LED lights and even the kickstand. However, there are some special touches on the equipment like quality grips, a solid rack and aluminum pedals. But above all, Intersport is known for equipping its Nakamura city bike with hydraulic disc brakes and a suspension fork.

These are two relatively rare accessories that are hardly found on mid-range electric bikes. Finally, the drivetrain leaves us a bit confused. The Shimano ALTUS SL-M310 and RD M311 groupsets seem to be a slightly undersized choice for electric bikes like the E fit 150 Nakamura.

The general conduct of the Nakamura E FIT 150

The good visual impression left by the Nakamura e fit 150 W is confirmed by the way it can be handled on the roads. The 28-inch wheels of the bike are certainly an undeniable asset to swallow the tar.

    The tires

At this point, you might think that Michelin Protek tires are perfectly suited for riding on paved roads. However, they prove to be less good or less comfortable when you need to take them on muddy roads or paths.

    Hydraulic brakes

The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes seem to be very efficient, even when riding on wet roads. Speaking of the engine, even though it is branded “Nakamura”, it is undoubtedly the M80 BBTR, manufactured and assembled in China.

While its road manners are quite pleasant and there is enough torque to weave between two cars or jump over a bump, the engine seems to have been held back. This is a fairly common practice to preserve autonomy and to comply with the regulations on electric bikes.

However, it is regularly circumvented by thousands of electric bike users. A simple and quick search on the Internet will allow the most resourceful users to buy the appropriate and adequate unlocking kit. If this is the case with the Nakamura e fit 150 W, you should expect to pay at least a hundred euros.

    Geometry and weight

With its geometry, this Intersport efit 150 puts the rider in a fairly good position, comfortable but not fun enough for the price. It is a relatively larger bike, weighing about 23 kg. This e-bike has been designed to put more emphasis on the safety of the rider.

    Its comfort

Comfort and safety make the E Fit 150 Nakamura urban electric bike a very good option that we highly recommend. If we are talking about commuting, this is certainly a comfortable electric bike.

The downside of the Nakamura efit 150

On the contrary, we regret some of the choices made by the design team in terms of ergonomics. For example, the need to turn on the engine twice before taking the pedal assist lever is a bit disappointing.
