Toyota RAV4 Plug in Hybrid: power and efficiency

Marketed since 2020 in France, the Toyota RAV4 Plug in Hybrid has been updated since early 2022. It is equipped with the latest Toyota Hybrid technology that offers an exceptional electric capacity. Discover the 2023 version, a powerful, efficient and economical SUV.

New Toyota RAV4 Plug in Hybrid

When it comes to hybridization, Toyota is the pioneer! However, after two generations of Prius, the Japanese manufacturer has launched another form of electrification: the rechargeable hybrid. This solution has just been extended to the RAV4, and allows a record autonomy! So, is the pioneer of the hybrid going to be the king of the PHEV?

Interior style

There are hardly any cosmetic improvements on the outside. Nevertheless, in order to offer an ideal setting for your journeys, the elegance and comfort of the interior are there.

Indeed, the RAV4 Plug In Hybrid’s black leather upholstery has a sporty look. They are heated in the front and rear, and offer a special moment on every journey.

Floating in the center of its center console, the Toyota RAV4 now offers the new 10.5-inch touchscreen multimedia system. On the driver’s side, the latest innovation can be found on the back of the steering wheel.

The RAV4 Plug In Hybrid comes standard with an all-new 12.3-inch digital meter. Customizable, you can choose from four different styles: Casual, Smart, Sport and Tough, as well as select the layout and information you want to see on it.

Dimensions and trunk volume

You’ve probably already seen a Peugeot 3008. The dimensions are almost the same as the RAV4 plug in hybrid, and the numbers speak for themselves. 4 m 60 in length, 1 m 85 in width, and 1 m 65 in height with 18-inch wheels. The wheelbase is 2.69 meters.

Thanks to the compact dimensions of the battery, you benefit from a generous and flexible trunk volume (with underfloor space) of 520 liters.

Our opinion

The RAV4 Plug in Hybrid offers the best electric range on the market, outside of the luxury SUV. As for the rest, it offers a very smooth ride, a high level of comfort, and performance on par with the competition. There is nothing to complain about with this RAV4, or almost nothing. The price! The only downside, as is often the case. It is still quite exclusive.
